Pilot Club of South Brevard

The Membership

The Pilot Club of South Brevard meets for a dinner meeting on the third Wednesday of each month.

We have a Program Meeting, followed by a business meeting. In addition, the club is divided into three divisions that meet monthly.

These divisions are the working nucleus of the club. Plans are formulated and put into action through the work of the divisions:
  • Projects Division determines projects and charities for the year.
  • Fund Raising Division plans fund raisers to make the money Projects donates to charity
  • Club Operations plans parties and special meetings for the club.

Service

One of the objectives of our local club is to reach out in the community and help those suffering from brain disorders. Some projects toward that end have been:
  • Contribute bicycle helmets to the Salvation Army to be donated to children in need.
  • Furnish Lifeline Support Systems to the elderly living at home.
  • Organize parties and contribute favors to local nursing homes.
  • Visit local schools and educate children about “BrainMinders,” a safety program which highlights injury prevention.
In addition to the above, we make significant contributions to local charitable organizations that are selected annually by our membership, such as:
  • Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind (BABB).
  • Sexual Assualt Victims Services (SAVS).
  • Harmony Farms.
  • Hacienda Girls Ranch.
  • Therapy Dogs .

Education

We award annual scholarships to deserving adults who wish to further their education and return to school. We also contribute toward the operation of three scholarship houses:
  • at the University of Florida.
  • at Florida State.

  • at Florida Gulf Coast University.
These scholarship houses provide housing to students who might not otherwise be financially able to afford housing away from home.
